It is WAY past time for the September newsletter. My apologies for the tardiness of this post, but things have been busy. The timing of this newsletter is actually a bit fortuitous because of all the activity here in the Information Security department as we gear up for Cybersecurity Awareness Month which is….next month! Yes, October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
We’ve arrived. The last month of summer. It doesn’t mean the heat is going away any time soon, just that classes are starting, and the campus has welcomed a new freshman class and returning students. I am sure the fall semester holds opportunity and adventure for all of us. I wish you all good health, good grades, and good fun as we begin the journey together. This newsletter is intended to present useful and timely information to the college community, and this month is no exception.
Welcome to April. The semester plows ahead, even as we grow weary of it. April brings us showers, tax deadlines, and the light at the end of the semester tunnel. It also brings us security awareness training, but don’t despair, this spring edition of security awareness training is laser-focused and comparatively shorter than previous instances.
Welcome to February! Was January just a blur for you, too? We’re well on our way into the semester and cyber attackers are back to their tricks after taking a little time for the holidays. I’m doing something different for this newsletter and I’ve invited a guest to contribute to the content. Our guest goes by the initials MW. I’m afraid the topic is well known to those of you who read this newsletter on a regular basis.
Welcome to the much-delayed December newsletter. I realize this newsletter finds most of you in the throes of the end of the semester, whether that is taking final exams, administering final exams, dealing with grades, stressed students, or stressed professors, or just realizing that December has arrived and the semester and everything about it wraps up in days. Then you all get to consider more personal tasks and endeavors. It doesn’t slow down any time soon. I’m sorry. But, here is the December newsletter. Please take a few minutes to read through it. I have only two topics and neither of them will take a great amount of time to look over.
We made it! October has passed, the change from Daylight to Standard time is coming, and November has arrived. Exams have been completed, registration is coming, and we wrapped up a great Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
Welcome to the last week of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the last full week of October. Wow, time flies…all the time. I hope October has been good, even with cold temperatures reminding us that our always short time of fall…
