Welcome to October! Along with cooler temperatures, an upcoming fall break, and the start of the holiday season, October brings us Cybersecurity Awareness Month! If you’ve been a part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month in the past, you know what is coming. We’ll have an article here every week about cybersecurity awareness topics. There will be opportunities to raise your cybersecurity awareness level and become the front line in our defense against cyber-attackers. This will include our semi-annual cybersecurity awareness training in addition to a couple more events. Details on these opportunities will be in the first weekly article, posting on Monday, October 7th.

Plus, we’re having another Virtual Scavenger Hunt! You can hunt down the clues each week for the chance at a weekly prize and if you complete all four weeks of the hunt, you will be eligible for the grand prize drawing. This year, we’re offering a Sony Bluetooth speaker with a silicone case as the grand prize. Details about the hunt and the prize are on the start page for the Scavenger Hunt, which will also go live on Monday, October 7th. The Virtual Scavenger Hunt will run from October 7th until November 1st. All final prize drawings will be held on that Friday. As soon as the hunt goes live, there will be a link provided on this page and you will receive an email inviting you to participate. Good luck!

You will also soon receive an email inviting you to log in and complete your semi-annual cybersecurity awareness training. Please don’t send this to your Junk folder. It is important to complete the training and this year, you can take a pre-test to see if you can skip past some of the training.
